About the Job

PDRI by Pearson is currently seeking a Consulting Coordinator (Intern) currently in an Industrial/Organizational graduate program (PhD program preferred) to join our fast-paced consulting organization. Ideally, the candidate would reside in the Arlington, VA / Washington, DC area. However, candidates in any location within the United States will be considered.

PDRI is a premier talent management consulting firm with a 45-plus year history of designing, developing, and implementing customized and innovative solutions to meet complex, sensitive, and unique challenges. 

The Consulting Coordinator will assist more senior staff with human capital project work. This will include assessment instrument item development. It may also include a variety of other tasks such as data collection and data analysis, review and editing of technical reports, gathering resources for and contributing to literature reviews, and writing sections of technical reports for review. Depending on project scheduling and opportunity, it may also involve limited client engagement (e.g., attend meetings, run workshops and focus groups). The position is intended to be both educational and practical, and he or she will learn how to apply skills acquired in school to a professional setting. This is an hourly, part time position with some variability in hours based on specific project needs. The anticipated need is anticipated to be approximately 20 hours most weeks.

Duties

Typical Project Work:

  • With direct supervision, contributes to the development of project deliverables such as developing draft assessment items, performance standards, competency definitions, training materials, etc.
  • Collects and enters data
  • Performs data analyses to facilitate the interpretation of data
  • Gathers resources for and contributes to literature reviews
  • Writes sections of technical reports for review; may require edits and revisions
  • Participates in client workshops, focus groups, and data collection sessions, typically supporting a PDRI staff person who is leading a session

  • Engages effectively with clients (e.g., when participating in workshops)

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field required. 
  • U.S. citizenship required 
  • Outstanding critical thinking and writing skills 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Graduate program level of knowledge on core Industrial/Organizational Psychology topics such as assessment development, validation, performance management, and competency modeling 
  • Flexibility, enthusiasm, and teamwork skills 
  • Prior related experience preferred, but not required
